If you had to appear in court, you would not think twice about hiring an attorney. Laws are confusing and attorneys are the ones who know the ins and outs of navigating the system. No one would in the right mind would watch a youtube DIY video and show up in court because mistakes can be costly.

Unfortunately, buying a car has a lot in common with the court system. Car dealers hold most of the cards and the car buyer is left to guess the best strategy for getting a car at the best price with the least hassle. The trade value and all the associated games, the financing or leasing ins and out, and when all that is over and done with, the heaviest sales pitch begins during the two-hour document signing ceremony which almost no one gets away from for free.
